This issue is often exacerbated with children who play wind instruments due to the pressure of the mouthpiece against their lips. Fortunately, that\u2019s where dental wax comes in! This thin, flexible, water-resistant material can be placed on the sharp edges of their braces, protecting their lips and gums \u2013 a few small pieces should do the trick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#2. Encourage Them to Change Up Their Routine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether your child has been playing a musical instrument for a few months or a couple of years, they\u2019ve likely developed some muscle memory. Since braces can disrupt this, it\u2019s natural for your little one to feel discouraged at first. However, this could be a great opportunity to build a new, better routine!
